Producing Culture and Care

An ethnography of the meanings of care and production of expertise in adult inpatient mental health settings

The aim of this research is to understand the realities of care through the daily activities and interactions which inform the development of both professional and personal development, enactments of practices, and the systems that structure our NHS adult inpatient mental health services.

By listening to and preserving the realities and lived experiences of good care and caring practices, this study aims to provide insights into how services may maximise opportunities for care and cultivate enabling expertise and value.
